Oral cancer screening
The screening for oral cancer is fast, essential, and non-invasive, and we offer it during your regular and routine check-up visit to our dental practice. The objective is straightforward: early detection of cancer or pre-cancer in the mouth, throat and adjacent tissues. Early diagnosis increases the likelihood of treatment and improved survival. In All Smiles, this screening is performed by Dr Sujit Ghorpade and Dr Sonali Ghorpade as part of the intended care for your overall well-being.
What is the Oral Cancer Screening Procedure?
Oral cancer is usually characterised by slight signs that the patient can overlook easily. The screenings are very brief, about a few minutes, and include a head-and-neck examination.
Vitality of Early Diagnosis
In cases of oral cancer, the survival rate is more than 85% when the cancer is detected at its initial stages. The prognosis and treatment are even worse because the diagnosis is often delayed until the patient develops subsequent symptoms, such as persistent pain or difficulty swallowing.
