Oral cancer screening
oral
The screening for oral cancer is fast, essential, and non-invasive, and we offer it during your regular and routine check-up visit to our dental practice. The objective is straightforward: early detection of cancer or pre-cancer in the mouth, throat and adjacent tissues. Early diagnosis increases the likelihood of treatment and improved survival. In All Smiles, this screening is performed by Dr Sujit Ghorpade and Dr Sonali Ghorpade as part of the intended care for your overall well-being.

What is the Oral Cancer Screening Procedure?

Oral cancer is usually characterised by slight signs that the patient can overlook easily. The screenings are very brief, about a few minutes, and include a head-and-neck examination.

Vitality of Early Diagnosis

In cases of oral cancer, the survival rate is more than 85% when the cancer is detected at its initial stages. The prognosis and treatment are even worse because the diagnosis is often delayed until the patient develops subsequent symptoms, such as persistent pain or difficulty swallowing.

Reasons to Select All Smiles for Your Screening

  • Integrated Care: The screening is incorporated into the regular visitation and cleaning. This life-saving exam is offered with each visit; no extra appointment is required.
  • Trained Eye for Detail: Dr Sujit Ghorpade and Dr Sonali Ghorpade are specialists in recognising the slightest visual and tactile differences that may indicate more subtle abnormalities - before they become evident.
  • Risk Factor Review: We assess and evaluate your individual risk factors, including the use of tobacco or alcohol, exposure to HPV, and prolonged sun exposure. It allows us to suggest a frequency of the screening that would suit you.
  • Peace of Mind: The complete screening is reassuring. Once an abnormality is identified, we then plan the next step, such as a follow-up, specialised testing, or a referral for a biopsy.
